Mint Condition • SN: 001 • 1 3/4″ width at nut • 24 3/4″ scale length • 2 1/4″ bridge pin spacing
This new condition 2006 John Walker Wise River #001 is a spectacular instrument. Very nice mahogany back and sides, and excellent, straight-grained mahogany neck. Adirondack Red spruce top. Ebony peghead overlay, fingerboard, bridge and pins. Bone nut and saddle. The shading on the guitar is masterfully done, with nice gradation across the mahogany and the neck, and the top shows beautiful natural antiquing from hand-applied shellac. JWalker inlaid logo at top of peghead. Ebony truss rod cover. Radiused ebony fingerboard has medium dot inlays. Blackened back of headstock. Fire-stripe, teardrop pickguard. Ebony rectangular bridge with “cut-thru” saddle.
This guitar is unscathed, and is as fine an example of an early guitar from a great maker that we can think of. The sound is powerful and dynamic with amazing character.
