This fresh arrival is a new Colling 002H with German Spruce top and a 14-fret neck. This formula closely follows the traditional 14-fret “00” sized guitars that emerged after about 1930. These had several changes to the earlier 12-fret, long-scale, sloped shoulder, slotted peghead versions that had their heyday from early 1920’s to about 1930.

This new Collings “00” is made using a favorite tonewood match of oursm – Indian Rosewood body with German Spruce top. This combination of woods lets you hear an opened-up sound with growl while the guitar is new, unlike some of the harder wood tops that take long periods of time to open-up.
Solid peghead with Collings pearl logo at top of Ebony peghead overlay. Nickel Waverly tuners. Diamond volute in back of headstock. Bone nut. Gabon Ebony fingerboard with Abalone cut diamond inlays. Ivoroid heelcap. The neck profile is a modified V.

The body has Indian Rosewood back and sides, Mahogany Neck and German Spruce top. Ebony bridge pins and end pin. Sound hole rosette of ivoroid inner circles bracketed by multiple blk/wh concentric circles. Bridge has bone intonated drop-in saddle. Tortoise plastic pickguard.
The top and back are bound with grained Ivoroid outer bindings with wooden herringbone purflings inside the top edge bindings and blk/wh purfling strip inside the back bindings. End wedge is ivoroid with blk/white accent lines on sides.

This is yet another great guitar in a long line of great guitars from Collings!
Comes with an excellent U.S. made TKL AVS hard case.
