This New John Walker Ruby Elite has fantastic balanced tone, and very low action with no buzzing issues. Incredibly figured Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top, Western Flame Maple back and sides and a comfortable “C” profile Mahogany neck. John Walker guitars are among the most respected in our shop, and this one is a prime example as to why.
The tortoise bound peghead has an Ebony peghead veneer with “JWalker” inlaid at the top in pearl. Truss rod access above the the bone nut. Gold Waverly tuners with Ebony buttons. The Ebony fingerboard has split block pearl inlays, and pearl side dot position markers on the bass side of the tortoise fingerboard binding. Tortoise heelcap.
The Sitka Spruce top has lovely bearclaw figure. Ebony bridge with Ebony (pearl dot) inlays, and a bone saddle. Tortoise pickguard and soundhole rosette. Five lines of black and white alternating purfling before the tortoise binding on the top edge. The Western Flame Maple back and sides are one of the most gorgeous sets of Maple we have seen in a while. “Zipper” backstrip separating the two-piece Maple back. Tortoise binding on the back edge. Ebony end wedge with Ebony end pin installed.
It is an exciting day in the shop every time we receive a John Walker. This is a brand new guitar but it already sounds fantastic. Comes with a TKL hard case.
