Wow – we’ve had several nice hand-made instruments from Mitchell Paulson over the last few years. This new Brazilian Rosewood 00 guitar is among the finest. Very beautiful with just the right amount of interesting woods and perfect accented trim. Beautiful Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, bridge, peghead overlay, fingerboard bindings, soundhole rosette and end wedge. Rosewood back shows wood stringer down center line. The Brazilian Rosewood used on the peghead overlay is bookmatched to nice affect, and he further inset Brazilian Rosewood at 12th fret, and after last fret of fingerboard extension. Complex Ebony bindings on top and back of body showing multiple wood lines on all quarters. The Rosewood bindings around the fingerboard also show wooden accent line on the inside. Adjustable truss rod with access in peghead near nut. Radiused Ebony fingerboard has small Pearl dot inlays, and gold EVO frets. Bone nut and intonated saddle.
Creamy Engelmann Spruce top with tight grain and interesting color. Ebony end pin and bridge pins with “Paris Eye”. Port Orford Cedar neck with Brazilian Rosewood stringer along back center. Ebony back of peghead overlay, and Ebony heelcap. Neck is a flat “C” shape. Black Ratio tuners installed in peghead.
The look of this guitar is much more stunning in your hands than I can describe on this page. Mitchell Paulson has always had a good eye for matching woods and bindings etc. on an instrument. this guitar has a great look that encompasses the history of excellent 00-sized guitars, but also shows innovations in matching materials.
Excellent tonal attack whether fingerpicked or flatpicked with a big, clear voice and excellent balance. Comes with good hardshell case.
