Taylor 712ce 12-Fret LTD / EXC+
#1110187034 / 12-fret
50th Anniversary / 1 of 10 made
This Taylor guitar is in remarkable excellent condition. It’s a limited-edition Grand Concert model, specifically the 712 CE 12-fret 50th anniversary, and it is one of ten made just like this. Despite its age, it appears to be brand new and is in astonishingly great condition. It is an aesthetically pleasing instrument, featuring a slotted headstock design reminiscent of a triple O shape, with body design similar to Taylor’s grand concert guitars.
The guitar features a mahogany neck, Indian rosewood back and sides, and a beautiful Lutz spruce top. The ebony peghead veneer displays the Taylor logo inlaid with pearl at the top. The neck has a rounded V profile. The Gabon Ebony fingerboard shows only slight signs of wear on the first few frets. The fingerboard inlays are an elegant double S-type floral pattern, delicately engraved, and uniform on the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 15th, and 17th frets. It’s worth noting that there may be cream or metal side dots serving as position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard.
Moving to the body of the guitar, the top boasts a stunning fiery sunburst finish, radiating vibrant cherry red hues. There is a soft Venetian cutaway for upper fret access. The top and back of the guitar feature koa bindings, complemented by spruce or cedar on the top edge, exquisitely executed. The binding layers consist of koa, a thin white line, a black line, cedar, another black line, and finally, the top wood itself. The soundhole follows a similar pattern, and also has a captivating soundhole rosette with inner and outer black rings, a thicker layer of spruce with herringbone grain, and alternating black and white lines. The back of the guitar features a Koa backstrip running through it. There is an Ebony heel cap, and a properly positioned strap button on the heel.
As for the electronics, it’s equipped with the Expression System 2. The battery access and end pin jack are located at the end pin of the guitar.
The label remains intact, and the overall condition is excellent. This guitar is a top-tier instrument, both in terms of craftsmanship and condition. It predates the V-Class braces, but nevertheless delivers exceptional sound quality.
The original case is included and is in great condition.
