This Manuel Rodrigues and Sons FFCUT is a great sounding Flamenco guitar that is in excellent shape. Hardly any sign this guitar was preowned besides the occasional light button scratch, and some blushing to the finish at the top of the front of the peghead.
The Mahogany peghead overlay features “MR” inlaid in abalone. Gold engraved three-on-a-plate tuners with pearloid buttons. Bone nut. Ebony fingerboard with no inlays.
This fine guitar is very nicely appointed. Five-piece back has 4 fanned-out pieces of Cypress with a dark center wedge piece of Rosewood. Beautiful Spruce top.
The Spruce top has a beautiful soundhole rosette but no traditional “soundhole”. Instead, there is a stylized cut where a soundhole would normally be.
The treble shoulder has a Venetian cutaway.
Bone nut and saddle. Appears to be an Ebony (or very dark Rosewood), bridge with pearl strip inlaid just behind the saddle.
The body binding is wonderful and very well executed. It is very pretty multi binding, starting with Rosewood binding at the corners of the top and back, backed with multi-colored strips of wood. These complex bindings are mitre’d into the end wedge.
The inside of the guitar top edge shows a beautiful and colorful marquetry purfling strip. The soundhole rosette also has a unique design to it and is very attractive.
This is a very well-built guitar with high grade materials and craftsmanship. It sounds great and has almost no signs of prior ownership.
Comes with a good hard shell case.
