Description
This 1800’s Amati Copy 4/4 violin is a nice player with a good balanced smooth sound. Light brown finish over an amber ground. Ebony fittings. Tailpiece has 4 fine tuners mounted. Comes with Bakelite chinrest. The scroll and neck are very nice. The Maple 2-pc bookmatched figured back is especially nice.
There is evidence of an old side graft repair about 2-1/2 inches away from the end button. There is also a short top crack repaired from the Ebony saddle and upward about 1-1/4″ along the bass bar. Of less import, there is a very small wing hinge crack on the lower portion of each f-hole.
