Another fantastic D-18 has just arrived in the shop. This 1950 Martin D-18 has just had a neck reset and a full refret so it is going to be great to play for a long time. It has that powerful aged Martin tone which is good for being heard in any setting. It has a fair amout of player wear, but it does not have any issues that need to be addressed.

The Rosewood peghead overlay has the “Martin & Co. EST. 1833” decal at the top. Bone nut. Kluson Deluxe tuners. The Rosewood fingerboard has graduated pearl dot inlays and ivoroid side dot position markers. The rounded “V” profile neck is in good shape with only minor player wear that isn’t bothersome while playing. This neck is perfect for a speedy flatpicker.

The Spruce top has a few dings and scratches, but it is in overall good shape with no rumpling. It has one repaired crack on the bass side of the lower bout, and the very common inside pickguard crack repair. Ebony bridge has a bone saddle and bone bridge pins with abalone dots. Tortoise celluloid pickguard. The Mahogany back shows the most signs of player wear, with swirled scratch marks that most likely were caused by a belt buckle while playing, but the wear is mostly smooth button wear and not down thru the finish to the bare wood. If not for this wear on the back this Martin would be in Ecellent or Ecellent (+) condition. The Mahogany back and sides do not appear to have any cracks or crack repairs.

This 1950 Martin D-18 is in fantastic shape with only mild player wear. It sounds and plays like a dream. Comes with a modern era Gibson hard case.
