Crackle finish  /  Tobacco sunburst

This 1967 Gibson F-12 does not have binding on the peghead or multiple binding like an F5 would, but it has binding along the fingerboard and the top and back edge of the body. It has a Spruce top with Maple back, sides, and neck.

The Ebony peghead overlay features the “Gibson” logo inlaid in pearl, and a torch pearl inlay in the center. Truss-rod cover above the bone nut with “Custom” written down the center. Gold Kluson Deluxe close-back tuners. Rosewood fingerboard features dot inlays and black side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard binding. Blackened Ebony neck has some dings that look to have come from a rough capo.

Sunburst Spruce top has some dings and scratches, and a good amount of crackle finish. Two-piece adjustable Rosewood bridge, and Nickel tailpiece with “Gibson” engraved in the center. Top edge is bound with cream binding. Two-piece Maple back is in similar condition to the top with some stray dings and scratches and lacquer checking. Looks to be two crack repairs towards the bottom of the Maple back by the binding.

This 1967 Gibson F-12 mandolin is a good sounding instrument in good playing condition. Comes with a hard case. This Gibson F-12 has a period correct pickguard with it, but it does not fit because it is for an F-5 model Gibson Mandolin. It is a valuable pickguard and worth holding on to.
