Quilted Maple
This 1987 Steven Anderson Mandola is in fantastic shape. It only has a few tiny dings and very light scratching that aren’t easy to find! None of this wear is visible unless light reflects off of the top in a certain way. This mandola also has great tone, projection, and nice low action. Spruce top with highly quilted Maple back, sides, and “U” profile neck.
The ivoroid bound Ebony peghead overlay has “SA” pearl logo at the top with an ornate abalone torch inlay below. Bone nut. Four-on-a-plate gold engraved tuners with pearloid buttons. The Ebony fingerboard has pearl dot inlays and black side dot position markers on the bass side of the ivoroid fingerboard binding. The quilted Maple neck has one small area of finish wear on the center of the neck around the 3rd fret, but it is in great shape otherwise.
The Spruce top has a two-piece Ebony adjustable bridge with gold adjusting screws, a gold tailpiece, and black/white/black purfling against the ivoroid binding. The highly Quilted Maple back and sides is some of the most gorgeous Maple we have seen in quite a while. There is also black/white/black purflings against the ivoroid on the back edge. Pickup endpin jack also acts as the end pin.
This 1987 Steven Anderson mandola is really a great instrument in very nice shape. The pickup sounds very good as well. Comes with a heavy duty Ameritage hard case.
