This 2007 Collings MT2 V is in wonderful shape. Adirondack Spruce top with Birdseye Maple back, sides, and rounded “V” profile neck. High Gloss alkyd Resin Varnish finish.
This entire instrument is bound with multiple accent lines. These are seen from the sides at Peghead and Fingerboard. Body binding is Tortoise edge binding with multiple accent purflings seen from above and below.
The Ebony peghead veneer has a MOP Collings logo at top and a Pearl flourish inlay in center. Truss rod access above the bone nut. Gold Waverly tuners with solid MOP buttons. The Rounded “V” profile Bird’seye Maple neck has a couple light player wear marks but is in overall great shape. Gold strap button installed on heel. The Ebony fingerboard has graduated MOP dot inlays. Medium 18% Nickel-Silver frets. Dovetail neck joint.
The Adirondack Spruce top has very light signs of prior ownership. It is in overall great shape with no issues. Tortoise bound Ebony pickguard, two-piece Ebony adjustable bridge, and a gold tailpiece. Installed is an after market Maple armrest that can easily be removed. Tortoise binding on the top edge. Tone bar bracing. The Bird’seye Maple back and sides are gorgeous. Tortosie binding on the back edge.
This 2007 Collings MT2 V is a fantastic mandolin. It has only the lightest signs of player wear and looks to have been kept in the case after each time it was played. Great tone and playability. It is wide open and sounds like the cream of the crop for great tone. Comes with a hard case.
