Not a regular production guitar…
Ok folks, this is NOT your normal “special run” or “Ltd Edition” guitar. This is all of that and more. The body was handmade by the Gibson Master Luthier, John Walker, and the neck was hand shaped into a “V” profile by Valerie, another custom shop personnel.  Not only does it have the special “100 Years” label, but it has “Custom” designation at the top of the label, with Ren Ferguson and John Walker’s Signatures on the label. Not only that… there is another John Walker signature UNDER the top that simply states: “John Walker, Adirondack Red Spruce”. When John Walker signed the underside of a top at Gibson, it meant that he had personally built the guitar, himself.

Maybe the most important aspect of it…
This special one of a kind custom shop Gibson was commissioned by a long-time Gibson in-house dealer liaison, Bill Gonder. Of course, Bill was an insider who knew all the builders as friends and knew where the “special” wood stacks were in the plant. This guitar has finest Mahogany and Red Spruce that Gibson had to offer.
So… this guitar was built by a Master Luthier at Gibson, for his friend who also worked at Gibson, using the secret high grades of wood that can’t be accessed by just anyone. It still has the original 1994 strings on it and sounds like a pure champion of a guitar. The condition would be “near mint” if not for some lines of finish checks on the peghead face.

This 1994 Gibson J-100XT 100th Anniversary Custom is in great shape with almost no signs of player wear. Adirondack Red Spruce top, Mahogany back, sides, and neck.
The Gibson J-100 is a Mahogany version of a Gibson J-200, but with less appointments and frills.

The Ebony peghead overlay has a crown inlay in the center with “Gibson” inlaid above it. Truss rod cover with “Custom” written down the center. Gibson Deluxe tuners with tulip buttons. Bone nut. Rounded “V” profile neck is in great shape. Rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays.

The Red Spruce top is in very nice shape with only minor signs of player wear. Rosewood moustache bridge with Rosewood pins and a bone saddle. Large tortoise pickguard. Cream binding on the top and back edges, with top edge having extra 3-ply purfling lines inside the top edge. The Mahogany back and sides are in great shape with nearly no sign of prior ownership. The back has single cream binding.

This 1994 Gibson J-100XT “100th anniversary” is a great guitar. Only minor signs of ownership.
Big Sound! Comes with the original hard case.
