One-Piece Birds’eye Maple Back

This 2002 Old Wave A model mandolin by Bill Bussman is pretty nice looking and sounds great. Traditionally made from hard Maple back, sides and neck and excellent Spruce top.
Excellent light brown-amber finish color, almost like tiger eye quartz color. This color looks great on the even-grained Spruce top but makes the birds’eye figure in the back and neck really stand out.

Full rounded Vee neck profile. 1-1/8″ width at nut. Peghead has Quilted Maple overlay with abalone wave logo inlaid and truss-rod access down near the nut. This original nut appears to be fossil ivory.
Radiused Gabon Ebony fingerboard has a stylized extension with 24 frets to play on. Cream dots on bass side of f.b. for position markers. Narrow stylized triangular abbreviated pickguard – made and installed by Bill Bussman. 2-pc adjustable ebony bridge made by Mr Bussman, as well. Simple nickel 2-pc tailpiece and nickel Schaller tuners with pearloid buttons.

The body is bound with single grained ivoroid around the top and back edges. Ebony end pin.

The frets are small-ish. These frets are not the extremely small early Gibson frets. The frets have some normal wear in the first 4-5 frets with no buzzing.

Comes with a good hard case.
