This 2002 Collings D2H has a Sitka Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, and a Mahogany neck. The Rosewood peghead overlay has “Collings” inlayed at the top in M.O.P and there are Nickel Waverly tuners with Nickel buttons. Bone nut. The Ebony fingerboard has abalone diamond inlays and small pearl dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard. The Mahogany neck is a comfortable “C” profile. There are some dings in the center of the neck most likely from a rough capo, but they aren’t too noticeable when playing. Ivoroid heelcap and Nickel strap button installed in the correct location on the heel.

The Sitka Spruce top is in good shape but there is some wear around the bass side of the lower bout and some other stray dings and scratches. Looks to be a repaired separation down the center seam by the bridge. There is a streak of orange color in the wood on the treble side of the upper bout – this is probably from a strap. Tortoise plastic pickguard and Herringbone purfling before the ivoroid binding on the top edge. There is a fairly simple soundhole rosette made up of three concentric circles of black and white alternating lines. The Ebony bridge has a bone saddle and Ebony bridge pins with M.O.P dots. The two piece Rosewood back is in good shape. “Zipper” backstrip along centerline of the back.

This instrument is 20 years old and has been played on and “opened up” and sounding great.
Comes with the original hard case.
