This 2003 Collings D1A is a great sounding dreadnought that has opened up in the last 20 years. It has an Adirondack Spruce top with Mahogany back, sides, and neck. Some minor fret wear and some stray dings and scratches around the instrument.

Ebony peghead overlay features the Collings mother of pearl inlay at the top. Nickel Wavery open-back tuners with Nickel lobed buttons. Bone nut. The rounded “V” profile Mahogany neck is in great shape with some very slight marks that cannot be felt while playing. Ebony fingerboard features small pearl dot inlays and small side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard. black heelcap.

Adirondack Spruce top is a nice aged yellow/orange color, and it has only a small amount of stray dings and scratches. Ebony bridge has a bone saddle and Ebony bridge pins with pearl dots. Tortoise pickguard installed, and 4 lines of purfling inside the tortoise binding on the top edge. Mahogany back and sides are in good shape with some button scratches and stray dings. Two-piece Mahogany back is separated by a thin black backstrip. Tortoise binding on the back edge on the Mahogany back. Ebony endwedge with Rosewood (pearl dot) endpin installed.

This 2003 Collings D1A is a powerful guitar. It has really opened up and is in great playing condition. It has some wear, but no significant marks that stand out. Comes with the original Collings hard case with one broken latch.
