This guitar is an upgraded version of the venerable HD-28 Martin dreadnaut, having advanced scalloped bracing and many vintage options.
Indian Rosewood back and sides with high grade Sitka Spruce top. Rosewood peghead veneer has C.F. Martin & Company logo at top. Original nut. Gabon Ebony fingerboard with no inlays. The LSV stands for “Large Soundhole Vintage” and this soundhole is enlarged to mimic the one Clarence White owned at 4 3/8″ diameter.
The Martin issue red tortoise pickguard has been replaced with a John Grevin tort-tis pickguard. Gabon Ebony bridge with cut-through saddle. Top and back of body and fingerboard are bound with ivoroid outer bindings. Back of guitar has two thin wooden lines of purfling inside the binding. Top edge has wooden herringbone purfling. Soundhole rosette is multiple ivoroid and black concentric circles. Heelcap and endwedge are ivoroid. Old historic zippered backstrip in the center of Rosewood back. The neck is a vintage rounded “V” profile and has diamond volute. Tuners are closed-back Kluson copies.
This is a powerhouse guitar with that big Martin sound.
