This Paul Reed Smith Ten Top Studio model guitar is in amazing condition. This is a winning formula from Paul Reed Smith. Mahogany neck with the main body of guitar contoured Mahogany. On top of the Mahogany body is carved highly figured Maple. Accented Maple edging around the top edge of guitar. These woods and finishes work together wonderfully. The top is beautifully sculptured with the signature PRS appointments like the body contours, big access all the way down to the last fret, the recessed knobs, etc.
The Mahogany peghead has raised gold applied letters with Paul Reed Smith’s signature. Below that is the custom truss rod cover with the model name “Studio” engraved. Black tusq nut. Nickel locking tuners with open back housing and easy locking string posts. Rosewood radiused fingerboard with bird inlays of ivoroid and shimmery metallic resin.
This guitar has three pickups and a single combination tailpiece/bridge. The neck and middle pickup are PRS Narrowfield. The bridge pickup is a 57/08 humbucking. The bridge/tailpiece is intonated in two stages from treble and bass and is fully adjustable for position up, down, forward, and back.
The Studio designation means that this guitar is made for tonal performance in a recording situation where a sound engineer is changing the subtle tones. This guitar has only one volume and one tone knob, and a five-way switch between pickups. The tone knob is a push-pull switch that activates different sounds of the pickups.
