Highly Quilted Maple
This 2011 RayCo Custom Wooden TriCone Squareneck is a rare find. Traditional tricone design, with 3 cones and T-bridge, but with all wood body and cover, instead of metal.
“Snakehead” peghead with intense quilt figure veneer. RayCo pearl inlay at top of peghead. Gold open-back Waverly tuners with wooden buttons. The body has gorgeous flamed Koa bindings around top and back edges, with black/white accent purflings seen at the sides and faces.
The neck is two-pc with Rosewood stringer. Gabon Ebony fingerboard has pearl dot position markers.
The top is quite nice, with stylized f-holes on either side of fingerboard extension. Tricone cover is quilted Maple also and shows clever cutouts for tonal energy. The wooden T-bridge is nicely done. Gold traditional national style tailpiece.
This is a great instrument that also is equiped with a very good hard case. Gold straplock installed by RayCo at endpin.
