Australian Blackwood
This 2021 Ruben is an Australian handmade guitar in fantastic shape and is built with very high grade woods. It has a Sitka Spruce top, a “C” profile Mahogany neck, and Australian Flamed Blackwood back and sides from the Otway forest. *The Otway forest is soon to have heavily regulated logging, so this precious Australian Blackwood will be more rare and more expensive. This is a one owner guitar that has hardly been played.
The peghead overlay features a “Ruben” decal at the top, and truss rod access before the bone nut. Gold Gotoh 510 tuners with black buttons. The Rosewood fingerboard features small pearl dot inlays and side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard. The “C” profile Mahogany neck is in great shape, and it is very comfortable all the way up the neck. Gold strap button installed in the correct position on the heel. Diamond volute behind headstock and Rosewood heelcap on neck heel. Frets have nearly no sign this guitar was ever played.
The Sitka Spruce top has some lovely wavy grain. A few small dings on the top, but it is in overall great shape. Rosewood bridge features white bridge pins with black dots and a bone saddle. Clear plastic pickguard and a Blackwood soundhole rosette. Wooden binding on the top edge of the Spruce top. The Flamed Australian Blackwood back and sides are gorgeous. The are one or two very tiny chips near the binding on the butt, but other than that the back and sides have almost no wear.
This 2021 Ruben “The Advantage” is a really nice hand crafted guitar that sounds great and is setup nicely. Comes with the original hard case.
