This Huckabee “Beargrass Bloom” 12-fret L-0 is in New condition. It is loosely modeled after pre-war Gibson L-0 or L-00 guitars. This guitar was made close to us by Willburn Huckabee in Sandpoint Idaho.

This guitar features very nice tonewoods including Engelman spruce top, Figured Ovangkol back and sides, and Honduran mahogany neck. The finish is a hand applied oil varnish.

The peghead veneer is solid Koa and is unadorned. It has very nice nickel Waverly tuners with ebony buttons. There is an ebony truss rod cover – held on by magnet – above an elk bone nut.

The fingerboard is ebony with large abalone inlays and wood binding and pearl side dot position markers. The neck has a diamond volute and a heelcap.

The Engelman spruce top has some nice grain and some reddish mineral streaking. There is nice wooden binding around the top and back with multiple lines of purfling seen from the sides as well as top and bottom. There is also a wooden sound hole rosette.

The body features a sound port on the side of the upper bout in the shape of a leaf. There is also a very nice arm bevel on the lower bass side of the guitar. There is a nicely crafted backstrip. The bridge is ebony with intonated elk bone saddle.

This is a really great sounding guitar with a lively, open, and responsive tone. We think this is an excellent bargain for a hand-made guitar with exceptional tone.
