Great condition Bart Reiter US-made open-back 11″ Whyte Laydie tone ring banjo.

Description

Excellent condition. Maple banjo.
11″ pot.  5-star head.  24 hooks & nuts.
Scalloped fingerboard.

Styled after a Vega Regent, except with Whyte Laydie style tone ring.
Maple rim is capped at bottom with rosewood. Top inside edge of rim bound with tortoise celluloid.
Maple neck is great, with no wear, or dings, or imperfections. Neck is two-pc with Ebony stringer along center line in back. Frets are small frets like 1920’s frets. Ebony peghead overlay with pearl star inlay in center. Ebony fingerboard has pearl dot inlays and is scalloped after 17th fret. Ebony heelcap with multiple wood lines. Nickel hardware, including 5-star main tuners and Schaller 5th. No Knot tailpiece. 1 1/4″ bone nut.

This is a very fine player’s banjo. You get the 11″ Whyte Laydie sound with scalloped fingerboard, but you pay less for simpler inlays.
This banjo is set up to play quite well and sounds great. Frets are recently milled and polished.
Comes with hard case (HC).

Here is an audio soundclip from our friend Isaac Callender demonstrating this fine banjo in our store.
