Torrefied Adirondack Spruce Top

This 2015 Bourgeois OMV SS guitar with Torrefied Top is a wonderful guitar. The shape is based on the Orchestra Model body style, known for its balanced tonal response and comfortable playing feel. It was crafted by the skilled luthiers at the Bourgeois shop in Lewiston, Maine. The OMV SS model features a shorter 24.9″ scale length, which gives it a slightly reduced string tension compared to a standard OM. This translates into a “fatter” sound that is warmer and friendlier than a long scale OM.
The back and sides of the OMV SS are high quality Indian Rosewood with a Mahogany neck. The top is from Adirondack Red Spruce that has been baked/torrified. Torrefaction is a process of “aging” the wood by roasting it in a specialized kiln. The fingerboard, bridge, and heel cap are made from ebony. This process of removing moisture and volatile organic compounds can help a guitar achieve a more mature tonal response – as though the guitar has been played for years. This can also result in a more complex and nuanced sound.
It comes with the original hard-shell case.
