“Pegheds” Geared Tuners

This turn of the century Breton Brevete’ violin has an Orange-Amber varnish finish and Ebony fittings. The sound is quite good, with projection and presence.

The top has some expert repaired cracks but is overall in great shape. It appears that the violin had either a fall or some compression force that cracked the top with a series of cracks just off to the side of the centerline.
One repaired crack on the top is along the outside edge of the bass bar. A new professional Bass bar was made and the cracks are repaired. A crack from under the fingerboard continuing under the bridge and tailpiece is nicely repaired. Two ancillary cracks repaired at upper and lower of treble f-hole.

I have to say that we have had several violins repaired/restored by same master luthier who repaired these cracks and replaced this bass bar. Always high-end professional work.

Beautiful workmanship all around the violin. And the “pegheds” brand geared tuners are so easy to use as tuners! But they look like normal Ebony straight taper pegs.
The scroll and the fine work around the scroll and the body is very high grade craftsmanship.

Comes with a good 4-bow rectangular case.
