This Eastman MD 815 V is a traditionally-built F-5 mandolin, with choice Spruce top and vibrant figured Maple back, sides, and neck. Ebony peghead veneer has Eastman logo inlaid at top, and their flowerpot in center. Wooden truss rod cover near nut. Nickel Gotoh tuners with pearloid buttons. This mandolin is fully bound with multiple ivoroid bindings. Peghead and fingerboard show black accent line along the sides. Top and back of mandolin show black accent lines on the sides and the top and back. Appears to be bone nut. Ebony radiused fingerboard with abalone dot inlays. Double-cut fingerboard extension is scalloped at the last few frets. One-piece stainless tailpiece. Two-piece adjustable Ebony bridge, Loar-style. This mandolin is in really good shape and comes with a really good hard shell case.
The varnish finish on this mandolin has been beautifully antiqu’ed. This softens the fiery red sunburst and makes it a joy to hold, nice and smooth on the hands. We love the tone of this mandolin.
