Oval Soundhole
This Fylde Oval hole Mandola is a well-built instrument. Beautiful Amazon Mahogany back, sides and neck with a cedar top. Nickel Schaller Mini tuners with matching Ebony buttons. Fylde Decal is at the top of the peghead, with truss rod access just above the nut.
Mahogany “U” profile neck with Rosewood fingerboard. Small MOP dot inlays.
The Cedar top has black main bindings with 4 plies of wood purflings inside the top edge. The oval soundhole has 2 concentric ovals of thin wood purflings surrounding it. Rosewood intonated bridge. 2-pc mandolin style nickel plated tailpiece. The Mahogany back has dark binding around the back edge.
There is one repaired spot in the lower bass side of the mandola. A broken area was repaired adjacent to the tailpiece. A patch was made from a similar piece of Mahogany approx. 1-1/2″ x 2″. The area was reinforced with Mahogany stays.
This is a great sounding Mandola by a respected UK maker. It has good sound and is set up to play. Comes with Hard Case.
