This fine Santa Cruz OM Custom is an incredible instrument, with tasteful appointments that make this a real eye catcher. Ivoroid bindings all around the guitar: on the headstock, the fingerboard, on both the top and back sides of the body, and the heel cap.
Select East Indian Rosewood back and sides, with a beautiful sunburst Adirondack Red Spruce top, and an excellent grade Mahogany neck. The tone on this never-played guitar is very rich. You get the sense that while it is already great sounding, it will open up beautifully. And… the set-up is great, making the package of beauty, playability and tone complete.
The Ebony peghead overlay has the “SCGC” logo inlayed at the top in Abalone. The headstock is fully bound with Ivoroid binding. Pre-war style open back Waverly tuners with metal 3-lobed buttons. Bone nut and saddle. The undyed Ebony fingerboard has cut diamond position markers inlayed in Abalone. The bass side of the Ivoroid bound fingerboard shows black dot position markers.
The master grade Adirondack top has a perfect sunburst that sets off the Abalone soundhole rosette and the wooden herringbone purflings inside the Ivoroid binding edge. Small tortoise pickguard. Gabon Ebony Bridge with an intonated Bone saddle. The guitar back has a black/white purfling accent line perfectly mitered-in to the wooden “Zipper” back strip. Ivoroid heelcap. The same wooden “Zipper” marquetry is inlayed at the end pin as well. The neck profile is a vintage very rounded “V” shape.
This guitar is in perfect shape with no scratches, wear marks, or cracks. The tone is so great on this Santa Cruz, it isn’t hard to imagine how it will sound as it opens up even more through the time you own it. Comes with it’s Original Hard Case (OHC).
- This guitar would cost approximately $8000 if ordered today.
