Here is a rather rare thing, indeed. This new Ode Ute 12″ Maple Special is from a very limited batch of new Ode banjos with these long-scale maple necks.
This banjo features a striking flamed maple neck with what appears to be Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, mother of pearl dot inlays, and ebony heel cap. Frets 18-22 have been beveled on the thumb side to improve playability. Railroad spikes are located at both the A and B positions.
The paddle style peghead is inlayed with a buffalo nickel and features H&K nickel tuners with amber buttons. There is a truss rod cover above the bone nut.
Flamed maple 12″ pot with Rennaissance head: bottom binding with tortoise celluloid, aged “antique” hardware with 28 hooks and nuts, handmade wooden armrest, Dotson bridge, and No Knot tailpiece. The dowel is also flamed maple.
Comes with gig bag.
This is an exceptional open-back banjo with great tone and looks to match.
