Wonderful Case

This vintage 1940’s – 1950’s Martin style 1 Tenor Ukulele is a nice one! Everything is all original with no problems and no repairs. Made of Cuban Mahogany (Swietenia mahogani), back, sides, top and neck with Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Ebony nut. Bone saddle. Friction tuners.

Set-up for high 4th string tuning. Peghead has the usual Martin & Co. decal logo at top. Looks like old Grover Champion friction tuners. Ebony bone nut. Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with small dot ivoroid inlays. Even smaller ivoroid dots along the bass side of the fingerboard. The Soundhole Rosette has 5-ply Blk/Wh/Blk/Wh purflings. Brazilian Rosewood bridge with bone saddle and Rosewood bridge pins.

The Mahogany body is bound on the top edge with tortoise binding that has a white purfling strip inside the top edge. The back shows single strip of tortoise celluloid binding all around the back edge. The Mahogany back also shows a thin Ebony “stringer” running the length of the centerseam. Matching strap buttons professionally installed in endpin and on neck heel.

Really nice condition with nice set-up and great sound.
The hard case is a newer super light, super strong hardshell case that fits it well.
