This is the 1st guitar made on the 40th day of 1993, and is #31 of a custom run of 31 guitars.  This 1993 Gibson L-1 CM guitar is very unique because it is such a specialized L-1 that it isn’t really a true L-1 anymore…!
The deeper body, the extra black lines in the bindings, the extra peghead inlays and fingerboard inlays, etc., all point to a more elaborate model, like the early issue Nick Lucas models.

Nicely figured curly Maple back, sides and neck.  Full body sunburst.  The peghead veneer has old style The Gibson logo at top and traditional Gibson flowerpot in center.  Bone nut.  Radiused Ebony fingerboard has Nick Lucas inlay motif.  Ebony pyramid bridge with cut-thru bone saddle.  Top and back edge of white bindings show black accent line in center.  Multi binding heelcap.  White end wedge.  Neck is 3-pc Maple with two Ebony stringers in center.  Gold tuners.  Gold strap button on heel and at endpin.

This is a pretty rare guitar from the modern era of Gibson in Bozeman, Montana.  Very collectible.  Comes with OHC.
