A “Player’s” Guitar
This 1998 Bourgeois is being sold at a discount price due to poor repair to the body at the bottom end. This Bourgeois most likely slipped from a strap while it was plugged in on stage.
There is a small repair at the endpin jack and above, along the top binding as it meets the guitar’s side. It was obviously not professionally repaired and shows excess glue and un-eveness around the areas of repair. That being said, these areas of repair are structurally fine. This is a great guitar for a regular gigging musician looking a great OM at a bargain price.
It sounds and plays great.
The Rosewood peghead overlay features “Bourgeois” inlaid in MOP at the top. Bone nut. Gold tuners. The shallow rounded “V” profile Mahogany neck is in good shape besides one large ding around the 10th fret that we will fill in the shop so it is not bothersome while playing. Ebony fingerboard with small diamond inlays and white side dot position markers. Gold strap button installed. Rosewood heelcap.
The Spruce top shows some signs of player wear, and one crack on the bass side of the lower bout extending from the binding. This crack was caused by the damage mentioned before. Ebony bridge has Ebony bridge pins with pearl dots and a bone saddle. Abalone soundhole rosette. Tortoise binding. Indian Rosewood back and sides are in good shape besides the damaged areas mentioned before. Other than those areas of repair, there are only light signs of player wear on the back and sides.
This 1998 Bourgeois OMC is a bargain guitar. Nice tone and playability. Comes with the original hard case.
