This new Blues Hardware octave mandolin is a unique piece that has a good amount of punch. It has Walnut back and sides, Cedar top, and a rounded “V” profile neck.
The Maple peghead overlay features the Blues Hardware logo at the top in Rosewood. Nickel four-on-a-plate tuners with pearloid buttons. Bone nut. The Rosewood fingerboard features the signature Blues Hardware strip inlays that also act as the side position markers. The generous “C” profile Mahogany neck in shaped very nicely all the way up. Walnut heelcap.
The Cedar top has some beautiful figure. The top has some interesting appointments including: A custom two-piece Bloodwood bridge with gold adjusting screws, a custom alloy and Rosewood tailpiece, a custom Walnut pickguard and armrest, a flower shaped sound port cutout on the bass side of the upper bout, and Maple binding on the top edge. The Walnut back and sides are beautiful. The two-piece Walnut back is separated but a Maple back strip. Maple binding on the back edge.
This new Blues Hardware octave mandolin has great woods. It is in nice playing shape, and the sound is good. Comes with a padded Martin gig bag.
