This used Wechter Scheerhorn squareneck reso, model 6530 f, is a great sounding guitar. Yes, it was made in China using Tim Scheerhorn’s design, but it was set-up with the baffle, cone and spider here in the U.S.
This guitar is in great original condition with only some slight side wear in bass side waist and a few minor touch marks here and there. It has no problems and plays great.
Rosewood back and sides, Mahogany neck and Spruce top. Body and Rosewood fingerboard are bound with antique’d cream bindings. Rosewood peghead overlay has Wechter logo decal at top and Scheerhorn logo decal in center. Professional height and width bone nut with correct professional string spacing. Rosewood fingerboard with inset Maple fret indicators and dot inlays. The Spruce top is a gorgeous blonde color. The body bindings show multiple accent lines along the sides and top edge has wooden Herringbone purfling inside the binding. The top has f-holes instead of screen holes.
The body is built with soundpost construction, spun cone, 8-legged cast aluminum spider bridge, and a plexiglass baffle toward the front of the inside body to help direct more sound out through the f-holes.
I am serious when I say this is a heck of a guitar – it truly sounds like it should cost about $2800.
It comes with a good hard case and excellent set-up.
* The sound is so good and strong that you do not need to run out and find a pickup for it…
This company hasn’t produced these guitars for 8 or 10 years, I believe.
